Motivational Monday #1

Ever woken up on a Monday, and felt like 'Aright let me go back to sleep now' *angry face*. Well of course you have, who hasn't? However It doesn't have to be like that, or it can be a bit easier.

A good way to face a day is to create a list of all the things you have to do, right down to brushing your teeth. This way you will start the day off already crossing things off the list! If you write them all down, and carry them around all day crossing as you go, it gives you a major feeling of accomplishment, which makes you feel pretty awesome!

Make sure you award yourself for completely really big tasks, either by buying your favourite chocolate bar, or doing some cheeky online shopping. Either way, by rewarding yourself when needed, you encourage yourself to keep going all day long. And when you get home and put your feet up, you know you truly deserve the time to relax, and there is no better feeling let me assure you!

So make sure to smile all day, complete that huge list of tasks, and reward yourself; you deserve it! It's only a Monday, enjoy it.

Fall for February: DIY Face Mask

Honey and oatmeal Face Mask:

As you may know, I have incredibly dry skin. Most masks available on the high street are focused towards oily spotty skin, which I do not have. Therefore apart from the occasional one, most masks I can not use, so I usually make them at home!

Ingredients needed:

1 Tablespoon of oatmeal
1 teaspoon of honey
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon of Olive Oil (or less)

Mix that all up in a small dish, and apply it with an old foundation brush (which should be clean!) onto cleansed skin. Leave it for 15 minutes, whilst it's setting you will feel the egg yolk tightening your skin, whilst it's doing it's magic you can read a book, watch a youtube video etc.
WARNING: you will look like this!

Now the Oatmeal is great for your skin because it prevents your skin drying out after the mask is washed away, and it also moisturises and repairs your skin, leaving it looking very glowing.

The honey moisturises and nourishes your skin, again leaving a very glowly youthful appearance.

Egg yolks are good for spots/pimples as it prevents the clogging of pours and reduces the bacteria in the skin.

Lastly the Olive Oil is good for cleansing and purifying your skin and leaving it looking much more hydrated.

After you have washed it away, you will have fresh glowy skin, that looks much more hydrated and feels soft and plump! It's amazing, you should try it if you have dry/normal skin, it's perfect and you will have all the ingredients in your cupboards at home!

Face of the day #3

1// I always start with my Revlon colour-stay, it's the perfect long lasting full coverage foundation. It's in the colour Buff, and I buff it in with my Real Techniques Buffing brush.

2// I then patted in my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer under my eyes, and over my one stupid blemish! This is such a beautiful full coverage concealer, and it lasts all day long.

3// Next I blended my H&M bronzer around the outside of my face to bring some warmth to my skin, also i blend it on my nose and cheeks, to give me more of a glow.

4// I used my Pop blusher from Topshop, I'm loving this lately! I usually gravitate towards the Head Over Heels, but Pop has been fun to play around with too, it's so neon and perfect for spring.

5// I then filled my brows in with something different, I used Coquette from Mac, I was barely using this, so I gave it a try on my brows with an angled brush. I actually really like the results, it looks very natural and hair-like.

6// On my eyes I simply buffed All That Glitters from Mac all over the lid, it's a very natural shimmery warm toned eye-shadow that brings a lot of light to the eyes and is beautiful combined with just mascara.

7// Of course I used lots of Max factor tonal mascara on my lashes to open up my eyes and make my eyes appear a lot more awake.

8// Lastly I swiped on my new favourite lipstick in Chatterbox from Mac, It's a bright pink, which looks awesome combined with the bright blush!

Wishlist #2

1// Yankee Candle: Sun & Sand. This freezing cold weather in Britain is making me wish for a holiday somewhere warm and sunny. This candle that smells like: A tropical beach breeze of sweet orange flower, lemony citrus, fresh lavender and powdery musk, Seems perfect for me right now!

2// Mac Lipstick in: Syrup, I've wanted this for a while but I've been hearing a lot about this on blogs and you tube lately so i feel justified in seeing what all the hype is about!

3// The Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, again I've been seeing this around lately, and after just starting to get back into my nails again, I thought it would be a good product to invest in.

4// Mac lipstick in Plumful: It looks the same as Syrup on here.. I assure you they are different. Heard a lot about this too, so I wanted to give this a try also.

Fall for February: 5 things..

I'm a firm believer in doing things that you make you happy everyday. Life can get busy and you end up doing things that you're not enjoying, and your loves and needs get pushed to one side. This will not do! I think, especially in February, we should all take the time to do 5 things a day that make us smile. Now these do not have to be huge things that take up a lot of time, they only have to be small things that are important, yet easily forgotten. So all you have to do is each morning whilst drinking your Coffee or Tea, write down 5 things that you love to do but haven't in a while, and DO THEM!

Here are my 5 things today:

1/ Read a couple of chapters of my favourite book/a book of my choice

2/ Take a bath in the evening

3/ Watch my favourite film/an episode of my favourite TV show

4/ Ring someone you haven't spoken too in a while/call your boyfriend

5/ Eat something you really love

They are my 5 things today, I am going to try and do to make myself that little bit more happy and in love with my life, it's that easy!

An early Spring time walk

I woke up today, and it was so beautiful outside, so I grabbed my little brother and my doggy Archie and decided to go for a nice mid-morning walk. I grabbed my camera on the way out and took some pretty snaps of the countryside and of myself..a cheeky outfit post slightly?!

what I was wearing:

Acid wash jeans: H&M
Fluffy crop jumper: New Look
Over the shoulder bag: Primark
Maroon Converse: can get them anywhere!

I kept it simple as it was a very relaxed walk, so I just threw my hair into a ponytail, my makeup was listed on my face of the day #2.

Happy early Spring!

Face of the day #2

I woke up today, to this! I was so excited, it's finally sunny in England. So whilst doing my makeup I attempted to bring some colour back to my face.

The products used:

1// Again I start off with my Revlon colour-stay it provides amazing coverage without much work at all. I buff a pea size amount all over my face with the real techniques buffing brush.

2// Then I used my Mac studio finish concealer in NC15, this is a lovely creamy concealer it can be drying but I only use a small amount warmed between my fingers dabbed onto blemishes and under my eyes to cover up any problems.

3// After that I used my Topshop Blush in Pop, this is a powder blush which I usually stay away from, but it's such a beautiful neon orange/pink, it seemed so perfect for the day. I used my stippling brush to blend a small amount all over the cheeks.

4// For bronzer I again just used my trusty H&M bronzer, i just buffed a small amount around the edge of my face to warm my skin up a little bit.

5// I filled my eyebrows in with my Rimmel eyebrow pencil in 002 Hazel, just to give them some definition.

6// I applied lashings of my favourite mascara- the Max-factor eye brightening mascara in Sapphire Black. This brings lots of brightness and light to my eyes, it's a must have on a sunny day.

7// As i'm having a dry skin and lips time at the moment, I made sure to apply lots of Carmex to my lips first to keep them moisturised

8// And lastly I applied a generous amounts of a lipstick I don't reach for often, Sleek- Papaya Punch. It's actually a matte lipstick but over a lip balm it doesn't dry your lips out. It's a beautiful neon red/orange that looks amazing in the spring/summer. I'm just excited that I can wear it now that it's cheering up a bit outside!

First impressions: Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream

I've had such dry skin lately, it's actually ridiculous! So yesterday I went on the hunt for a rich hydrating night cream to sort my skin out. I stumbled across this Nivea night cream in Superdrug and liked the sound of it. It claims to 'Provide intensive moisture' perfect for me! ''Very nourishing and provides a fresh skin feeling in the morning' Sounds like a miracle product!

I opened it up, and oh my goodness is it thick. It is a very heavy thick cream which seems at first, a little too much. I cleansed my skin, scooped out a fair amount and rubbed it into my skin, i instantly knew i was going to love it. It really nourished the skin, it made my skin feel very plump and smooth instantly.

After a few hours, my skin still felt very hydrated and soft which was awesome. I fell asleep, and when i woke up this morning, my skin did feel very nourished still (and my dry patches were hardly noticeable.) It really does do what it says on the tin! I am impressed for sure, and am looking forward to using it for longer to see if it changes my skin long term.

Face of the day #1

Excuse my wet hair.
1// I start with the Revlon colour-stay foundation, I use the real techniques buffing brush to blend a small amount over my entire face to create a nice flawless base. It creates such a matte flawless look that lasts all day long.

2// Next I conceal my under eye circles and any blemishes with my Collection 2000 concealer. I use the real techniques contour brush to blend that in, its amazing as it sets instantly and wears well all day long, also it has fantastic coverage.

3// After that i use my disgusting looking Topshop Head Over Heels blusher, with a stippling brush all over the cheeks. It gives you the best flush that looks very natural.

4// Then i use my H&M bronzer in Gorgeous Tan, with an angled face brush to lightly contour and bronze up my skin as i am very pale! Surprisingly i love this product even though it was less than £5 from H&M, it has great colour pay off without being chalky or orange.

5// I next fill in my eyebrows with the Rimmel eyebrow pencil in 002 Hazel. This is awesome, its a soft pencil that is such a nice light brown colour, that actually stays all day without rubbing away. Also it's very inexpensive so that's a huge plus.

6// Today I applied my Mac eye-shadow in Shroom all over the lid, its a very pigmented frosty light cream colour, which is very easy to wear, and gives a very polished look.

7// Lastly for the eyes i apply lashings of my Max Factor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara in Black Sapphire. This is my all time favourite mascara which i have repurchased multiple times. It give long thick lashes with only a few coats, and the small flecks of blue in the formula makes your eyes appear much bluer and brighter!

8// For the lips i just applied some Carmex and then this beautiful lipstick from Mac in the colour Chatterbox. This is my current favourite, as its perfect for this end of winter-beginning of spring time. It brightens the face, and is just pretty and long wearing.

Review: Sanctuary Detox Mask

This mask from Sanctuary spa Covent Garden, is amazing. It's a thermal detox mask, which means it reaches deep into your pours and pulls out all of the impurities.

To use this, you need to apply a thin layer of this charcoal treatment all over your skin, or just to your trouble spots i.e your T-zone. As you are rubbing it in, it will instantly begin to get warm (it's so weird!)

Then leave it for 5 minutes, it will cool down, and then you can massage it off with warm water.
Finish with a splash of cold water to close your pours, and apply your favourite moisturiser.

This mask works great if you are in a hurry, because you only have to wait 5 minutes, so i usually do this in the morning or just in the evening when I am very busy. But even though its only a 5 minute treatment, it works incredibly well to reduce redness in spots, and leave a very glowy fresh faced look, and because its not made from clay it doesn't dry your skin out. It leaves a very nice smooth finish perfect to apply makeup too.

Fall for February: Valentines day

The roses and card were from my boyfriend, they are beautiful, and I feel very lucky!

Hope you had a beautiful valentines day <3

Fall for February: My doggy!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

This is my beautiful pup Archie, he is awesome!
Even if you didn't have a valentine this year, you must always remember to appreciate the ones around you who love you no matter what.
I had my valentines with my boyfriend, but I also had this little guy with me too, and made sure to pay attention to everyone who means something to me.

There are lots of types of love, make sure you show it to those most important, even if it's just your puppy!

Review: Topshop Blusher in High Five

My favourite all time blush is Head Over Heels by Topshop, however I have recently been reaching for this blush also by Topshop in High Five. I've had this for a while but seemingly forgot all about it until a few weeks ago, since then i have been using it much more often and actually really enjoying it.
It's a cream blush, but it dries as a powder on the cheeks which is awesome because that means it gives you application of a cream blush, but the lasting power of a powder blush. Also the pigment of the blush is amazing, it's also very build-able product, so the intensity can be increased depending on the occasion.
I usually use a duo fiber brush to stipple it onto the cheeks, or I just use my fingers if I'm in a hurry.
Amazingly it's only £6! An absolute bargain.

Top 3 Mac Lipsticks

1// Mac Chatterbox: This is an amplified formula, which means it's super pigmented. Luckily even though it's very pigmented it isn't drying, it doesn't have a glossy finish, but it does have a sheen to it. This colour is a gorgeous dark pink, which looks amazing with simple makeup. I've had this for a while but only recently started wearing it again after seeing Tanya Burr from Pixi2woo wearing it.

2// Viva Glam Gaga: this is a colour i actually wear quite often. It's a lustre finish meaning its very glossy, which i love as it keeps the lips very hydrated. The colour is quite bright and not very wearable, but patted down with muted makeup it looks just lovely.

3// Hue: this is my all time favourite lipstick. It is a glaze finish, which means it's quite sheer and very glossy, it sits well on the lips and looks awesome with darker makeup. I've had this a while, and use it most times i wear lipstick, i will for sure re-purchase it when it's finished (which is soon by the looks of it!)
