April favourites ☼

1// Soap & Glory Mist you madly; I have been trying to use up my products these days, so instead of my usual perfumes I have been reaching for this. It is only a body spray so has to be re-applied throughout the day. But I have been getting compliments on it's flora scent and I have been loving it for the spring time, it's something a bit lighter.

2//Elf eye-shadow in Pebble; I have been using this for my eyebrows, as I have ginger hair which is warm toned, I prefer to use cool-toned colours to keep my face not look muddy from warm colours. This is another product I am trying to make use of, and I have been enjoying it!

3//Elf Warm Bronzer; Again I have been using this up (i have even hit pan!) but I have been loving this for my bronzer/contour lately, it's warm and brings a lovely glow to my face which is lovely in the spring-time. It looks shimmery, but this doesn't translate onto the skin, making it much easier to use.

4//MAC Paint-pot in Bare Study; This is my least used paint-pot  but the last few weeks I have been loving it on my eyes with just mascara. It looks fresh and youthful, and I would recommend it highly!

5//Burts Bees lip-balm and hand salve; I love the lip-balm, it is so balmy which sounds silly, but it leaves a nice layer on the lips that keep the nourished for a long time. Also the hand salve is lovely for my cuticles as they have been dry lately.

6//Botanics Shine Away moisturiser; I have been getting a little oily lately due to the change in the weather so I changed from my thicker moisturises to a more matte one. This is very good at mattifying the skin and leaving an almost velvet finish which keeps shine at bay whilst still moisturising the skin.

First impressions: MUA Undress your skin shimmer highlighter

A few weeks back I tried the MUA undress your skin foundation and I actually liked it quite a lot for 'no makeup days'. So when I saw this bad boy in Superdrug I wanted to give it a go.

It has that MAC powder vibe about it with the swirls, and was only £3. On first impressions it is quite lovely, however when swatched it left much to be desired. It is incredibly pink toned and quite chalky, I wore it for a few days dusted on my cheekbones and it did look nice and did the job, but it didn't have the wow factor for me.

So in conclusion I would recommend this if you are looking for a pink toned shimmer highlighter that is affordable and nice for everyday wear, however it definitely is not a wow product that I would say run out for.

(PS the packaging is actually quite nice too!)

Nails of the day #2

I picked this colour up yesterday from Boots, Sinful Colors 24/7. This colour is awesome! It's literally highlighter pink, and neon, it's perfect for a pop of colour in spring. Unfortunately as I expected the finish is matte, so I had to use a top coat to achieve a shiny finish, but that's okay.
For only £1.99 I love this colour, definitely recommend this for spring/summer!

Mini drugstore haul #1

1// Sinful colors: 24/7 and Island Coral.
I found these in boots for only £1.99, and these shades are perfect for spring a neon and a peach. I am excited to wear them!

2// Real Techniques blush brush.
My favourite brush for bronzer and blush died yesterday when I was washing them, so I ran out today to replace it. I know the great quality of real techniques so I picked this one up for £9.99 and am looking forward to trying it.

3// Botanics, Cleansing foam wash.
If you saw my empties post, I finished my face wash and needed to replace it. I decided to use something different and went for this one from Botanics. It seems simple and easy and I will do a review shortly on the results.

Red nail varnish 101 (Drugstore vs. High end)

1// Barry M- Bright red.
This is the cheapest of the bunch at only £2.99, and it is probably my most used red nail polish. It's the most orangey red of the three, and looks nice with both pale skin and tan. I would recommend this to everyone as a staple red nail varnish.

2// Nails Inc- St James.
This is the most expensive of the three- £11. Therefore for the price tag you would expect amazing quality and unique lasting power, however this isn't the best red nail polish. It's more blue toned than the others and that means it makes you look more pale if you are! It also doesn't last as long as the Barry M one surprisingly. I would recommend this if you like blue toned reds and want to splurge!

3// Avon- real red.
This is the in-between price tag of £6 and is also the darkest shade, it works well for a night out or dinner because it's much more sophisticated than the others, however it does chip quickly so make sure you use a good top coat!

Red lips 101 (Drugstore)

1// Revlon Lip Butter- Candy Apple.

This is so easy, and inexpensive and messy. This is much shearer than a normal red lipstick which means it's much more wearable during the day. I would recommend this for anybody who is scared to wear a red lip and needs to slowly get into it!

2// Revlon Lipstick- Ruby.

This again is pretty inexpensive and is a great blue-tone red which means it makes your teeth look much whiter, which is great as red lipsticks can make them look yellow. This is also a little bit darker and more pigmented which means it may be harder to wear during the day, but for nights out, perfect!

3// Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick- Forget me not.

This is the darkest of the bunch, more of a blood red. This is my go-to lipstick for nights out because it so dramatic when it's built up, also it lasts a long time without drying your lips out which again is an issue with red lipstick!

4// 2true lip-gloss- 9

Obviously this is the sheerest as it is only a lip-gloss, however this means it's super easy to wear and top up throughout the day without a mirror, and it doesn't get on to your teeth! It isn't too sticky and lasts a relatively good time for a lip-gloss, and it has a great finish which is very fresh.

Any red lip recommendations?

Empties #2

1// Schwarzkopf  Gliss leave in conditioner: I bought this so long ago to help get my hair back into a healthy state. However this product was far from impressive, it didn't helpmy hair it just gave it a slightly greasy feel because of the high oil content. It didn't make my hair appear any healthier, but it was nice for very dry hair days and it smelt good.
Would I repurchase?
Probably not, I would rather try something else.

2// Bio Oil, this took an age to finish because a little goes a long way. This oil is targeted at scars, ageing skin and dehydrated skin, and worked really well to hydrate my skin for sure. I would add a few drops to every bath to help make my skin smooth and silky, and also if I was having a very dry skin day I added a drop to my moisturiser.
Would I repurchase?
I have another one already.

3// Clean & Clear Morning Energy Face Scrub, I have been through 3/4 of these because they are so lovely in the morning. It really does refresh my skin and leave it very glowy and ready for makeup. However it really does not last very long, maybe a few weeks at a push which is a downside.
Would I repurchase?
I would, however I think I will try something else next.

4// Soap & Glory Clean Girls Body wash  I got this for Christmas from my Brother and I only just ran out today! That's four months of continuous use, I was incredibly impressed. It foamed really well and left me smelling really fresh and girly, plus the packaging is so adorable.
Would I repurchase?
For sure, It lasts a really long time, and is great in the bath and the shower.

Have you tried any of these products?

I <3 spring tag!

Question one; What is you favourite spring nail polish?

An old favourite is Minted by Revlon, it screams spring time for me. Although a new favourite is Lychee from Barry M, it is so chic and 'clean-feeling' for spring.

Question two; Must have lip colour this spring?

I love orangey-neon colours for spring, because they are so fun and bright. My favourites are Revlon's Just bitten kissable balm stain in Rendezvous and my Sleek lipstick in Papaya Punch.

Question three; favourite spring drink?

Iced Coffee! I didn't try it until this year and I must say I <3 it very much. (Also I make mine at home!)

Question four; favourite spring flower?

One word; Tulips! I love them so much, they are very fresh and spring-like, and they come in so many colours!

Question five: favourite spring trends?

I love pastel colours and floral, however I also love shorts and loose fit t-shirts.

Question six; favourite spring candle?

I love Yankee candles, but I especially love their clean scents for spring time, and I enjoy Clean Cotton the most. Any recommendations?

Question seven; favourite spring perfume?

I always love this Coco Chanel perfume, in every season, so it has to be this. It's floral smelling but warm too!

Question eight; what is spring like where you live?

I live in England, so not very sunny. It so far has rained and snowed! I am definitely looking forward to the warmer weather!

Question nine; favourite thing about spring?

The fact that it's a fresh start, I like to think of it as a reason to change things up, and I usually have a happier outlook during the spring/summer months.

Question ten; Are you a spring cleaner?

Oh my goodness yes. I love a good clear out, and cleaning and re-organising it's my favourite thing to do haha.

I changed the questions slightly, but I tag you!

Wishlist #3

1// This beautiful dress from Miss-guided which I think will look gorgeous in the spring/summer, adding that much needed pop of colour!

2// An iPad case from Topshop, I carry my iPad everywhere now, and it needs protection!

3// I fell in love with these boots from Miss-guided, they would fit into my wardrobe so well and I know I will get lots of wear out of them.

4// Everyone loves this bag from Zara, and I too love it. I think this would be very versatile and easy to use at weekends!

First impressions: Barry M Nail Paint in Lychee

I have seen this nail paint everywhere the last few weeks; on blogs and YouTube  but I wasn't sure if this colour would work for me as I am super pale. However I picked it up anyway because these Barry M nail polishes are only £3.99!

I LOVE this nail polish!

1// It is so chic and elegant without being a predictable baby pink.

2// It applies like a dream, it only took two thin coats to create an opaque finish.

3// There wasn't any need for a top coat, because it is the Gelly Hi-Shine formula it has a lovely shiny finish without one.

4// I have been wearing this for a few days now, and it shows minimal wear and tear!

For only £3.99 I would highly recommend checking this colour out, and I for one will be checking out the other colours in this range.

First impressions: MUA 'Undress Your Skin' Foundation

As you may know, I use the Revlon Colorstay foundation most days due to it's full coverage, and ease in applying. However it is really full coverage and sometimes a bit too much for everyday wear, so lately I have been looking for a more lightweight luminous foundation to have on those days.

MUA is a cheaper brand in Superdrug, and this illuminating foundation was only £5, which I thought was a bargain!

So, my first impressions:

1// It surprisingly had very good coverage for a cheaper foundation, It did cover my dark circles, and I only needed a little concealer over my problems spots.

2// The colour: I bought the lightest shade Porcelain because I am so fair. The colour is perfect for me, it blends into my skin effortlessly, and it matched my neck really well.

3// It did provide a luminous finish to my skin which is a change for me, it was quite glowy, without appearing shiny, or oily. Therefore it just made my skin look makeup free, and very natural.

4// The only downside I have for this foundation is that it feels a little sticky on my skin, after I finished buffing it in I felt my skin with my fingers and it was a little 'wet' maybe? But with a little powder down the center of my face it solved the problem instantly.

5// Lasting power was pretty impressive for a more lightweight foundation  I didn't have to touch up throughout the day, and It kept my skin looking glowy and fresh all day.

I would most certainly recommend this foundation to anyone looking for a more fresh, glowy foundation that doesn't really look like makeup, and it's only £5!

Face of the day #5

I wanted a more smokey brown look today so here is what I did:

1// Of course I started with my usual base of Revlon Colorstay buffed in with a Real techniques buffing brush standard.

2// Then I covered my awful dark circles and a few problem spots with my concealer from Collection.

3// I filled my eyebrows in with Macs Coquette and an angled brush, I wanted them to look a little thicker today, maybe I was channeling my inner Cara Delevingne.

4// Then I brushed on some blusher from Topshop in Pop, it's a neon orange, but it looks surprisingly natural on my skin.

5// I finished my skin with a dusting of my H&M Bronzer to warm my skin up a bit, it's so cold here in England that I'm still super pale.

6// Now onto the eyes, I started with my favourite eye base- Mac Painterly Paintpot. It just covers any redness or veins and gives a very nice base for other products.

7// Then I used a no-name brown eye-liner I found in my makeup stash, but of course any brown eyeliner you have will work. I messily drew a line along my top lash-line and in the outer corner of the bottom lashes, and to smudge it out I used a pencil eye-shadow brush to give it the smokey effect I wanted.

8// With that done I applied lashings of my favourite mascara- the Max factor eye brightening mascara to open my eyes back up.

9// And lastly I applied a bit of my 2true lip-gloss in 1, this stuff is amazing and only £1.79 in Superdrug, bargain.
